Our base at the Leeds Road Playing Fields (main building) has an all-weather 400m running track. The club is working closely with the Kirklees Active Leisure (KAL) to develop our facilties further to provide new throwing and jumping areas

We have several UK Athletics qualified coaches to help develop skills in junior and senior age groups, focusing on mobility, endurance, speed and technique. The junior age group up to 14, aims at enjoyment and the development of skills as well as learning the rules of competition and techniques. We expect all athletes to take part in real competitive events whenever they can . The start of each session involves a whole group warm up and drills, then athletes divide into groups to work with coaches

Track and road sessions are the norm, with occasional indoor athletics training in the winter months. At this time of year our main focus is on cross-country competition and in the summer we compete in various track and field leagues catering for adults and juniors of both sexes. Road running continues throughout the year, and the club has its own road league. We are registered for all disciplines except race walking.

Athletes should read the guidelines (Club rules) for club members so they are aware of their responsibilities to fellow athletes in all age groups, and to the coaches. Failure to meet any of these guidelines may result in an athlete being excluded from training sessions and requested not to attend future sessions until clear guarantees of improved behaviour, payment of subscriptions and use of facilities etc. is both given and adhered to.

Remember, training sessions are for the enjoyment of all involved including the coaches who give up their time as volunteers!
