Age group rules Track and Field

Taken from the UKA rule book
under 11s

(Shorthand is 'u11')
To compete as an Under 11 the athlete must be Under 11 as at midnight on the 31 August at the end of that competition year
(i.e. This will mean the athlete is currently in years 3, 4 or 5 at school).

under 13s

(Shorthand 'u13s')
To compete as an Under 13 the athlete must be Under 13 as at midnight on the 31 August at the end of that competition year
(i.e. This will mean the athlete is currently in years 6 or 7 at school).

under 15s

(Shorthand 'u15s')
To compete as an Under 15 the athlete must be Under 15 as at midnight on the 31 August at the end of that competition year
(i.e. This will mean the athlete is currently in years 8 or 9 at school)

under 17s

(Shorthand 'u17s')
To compete as an Under 17 the athlete must be Under 17 as at midnight on the 31 August at the end of that competition year
(i.e. This will mean the athlete is currently in years 10 or 11 at school)

Anyone who is 17 is a 'Junior' or 'under 20'
Anyone who is 20 and older is a 'Senior'

Age groups - Cross Country

under 11s

To compete as an Under 11 the athlete must be 8, 9 or 10 as at midnight on the 31 August prior to competing
(i.e. This will mean the athlete is currently in years 4, 5 or 6 at school)

under 13s

To compete as an Under 13 the athlete must be 11 or 12 as at midnight on the 31 August prior to competing
(i.e. This will mean the athlete is currently in years 7 or 8 at school).

under 15s

To compete as an Under 15 the athlete must be 13 or 14 as at midnight on the 31 August prior to competing
(i.e. This will mean the athlete is currently in years 9 or 10 at school)

under 17s

To compete as an Under 17 the athlete must be 15 or 16 as at midnight on the 31 August prior to competing
(i.e. This will mean the athlete is currently in years 11 at school or was in year 11 the previous year)

  To compete as an Under 20 the athlete must be 17, 18 or 19 as at midnight on the 31 August prior to competing
Anyone 20 or older is a 'Senior' athlete

Athlete performances and records

Athlete performances are recorded for official events on the 'Power of 10' website - a national database of performances. Once you have paid membership and competed in an official event your name and results will appear on this database
